I invited some friends for dinner a couple of days ago. Since I usually choose meat in the main course, I like to serve fish as a starter. This time I chose salmon and lentils. A great combo, if you ask me. What you need (for 4 servings as starter or 2 servings as main course): 4x 125g filets of salmon 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 1 small onion, finely diced 50g celery, finely diced 1 carrot, finely diced 150g mountain lentils (or black lentils) 1/2 pear, finely diced 50ml balsamic vinegar...
Shakshuka is a dish of eggs poached in a spicy tomato sauce and is very popular in the Middle East and North Africa. My version is based on the original recipe, however it's loaded up with more veggies and some salsiccia since I use to serve it as an entire meal. It's spicy, it's sweet, it's fresh, it's just delicious. What you need (for 2-3 servings): 150g of salsiccia cut in 1cm slices 2 peppers (red and yellow), diced (2cm x 2cm) 1 onion, finely diced 4 tomatoes, diced (2cm x 2cm) 1/2 can of...
I usually don't have a sweet tooth. In fact, I'd rather order another starter at a restaurant, than a dessert. But as just said: usually. When it hits me, I dig into a pack of m&m's peanut or some oreos. These are my favorite. It's not healthy, but who cares, if you eat it from time to time. Here I have an awesome alternative: Chocolote Banana Hummus. It's difficult to imagine that this can be good, but it's freakin' delicious. And you won't even notice that its made of chickpeas....
Gyozas take a while to prepare since there's some handwork involved, but it's totally worth it and super simple. Two years ago I made them for the first time and I had no experience in making them, but it worked out just fine. So you'll definetely be successful as well. Ingredients (for 20 pouches which equals 1-2 servings): Gyoza sheets (frozen, at every asia shop) 125g cabbage 125g minced pork/beef 1 small carrot (50g) 1 finely chopped spring onion 1 chopped clove of garlic 3 tbsp sesame oil...
